Buying guide
Short answer: A rubber wheel stop (also called a wheel stopper or parking stop) is a 100mm-high block fixed at the head of a bay to stop the wheels. Rubber is lighter and gentler on tyres than concrete. SafeWise sells one size, 1650mm long and about 12kg, from $50 ex GST, with one stop centred in each bay. Fixings are not included.

Choosing rubber wheel stops comes down to material, length, height, how they are fixed and what a whole car park costs. Here is each one, in plain terms, for builders, installers and strata managers.

Material
Wheel stops are commonly rubber or concrete. Here is how they compare in general terms.
| Material | Handling and fixing | Where it tends to suit |
|---|---|---|
| Rubber | Light enough to carry and place by one person. Fixed through moulded holes. Gives a little when a wheel meets it. | Car parks, driveways, garages and strata bays where the stop may need moving or replacing. |
| Concrete | Heavy. Often pinned or glued down. Can chip or crack, and an edge can be sharp on a damaged stop. | Existing installations and sites that already use it. |
| Other (plastic, steel) | Varies by product. Check the height, the fixing method and whether it is reflective. | Specific uses we don't cover. SafeWise supplies rubber only. |
We sell rubber because it is easy to handle and fix, and it is kind to tyres and bumpers. Our rubber wheel stop is black with reflective yellow panels and moulded fixing holes, so it shows up in headlights and at dusk.
Size
Where the stop sits in the bay matters as much as its size. The setbacks commonly cited from the standard are in the wheel stop setbacks from walls and kerbs section of the installation guide, and they depend on the kerb or wall and on how drivers park.

Fixing
Each stop has moulded fixing holes. What goes through them depends on what is underneath. Fixings are not included.
One per bay, centred. Set the stop centrally across the bay so both wheels meet it, in a straight line along the row. The step-by-step method is in the wheel stop installation guide. SafeWise supplies product only, so a qualified installer should do the fixing.

Prices are per-unit starting points as at October 2026, ex GST and ex freight. Better pricing applies at pallet or container volume.
| Bays | Working | Ex GST | Inc GST |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 20 × $50 | $1,000 | $1,100 |
| 40 | 40 × $50 | $2,000 | $2,200 |
That is supply only. Freight to your postcode, anchors or spikes, and installation are extra, and we don't publish a freight price because it is quoted per job. Wheel stops are pre-order for the next container: factory production typically takes 15–20 days, plus sea freight and customs, and the expected landing date is on your written quote. Nothing is committed until you confirm the quote. To count bays, use the wheel stop calculator, and for a per-bay view see what a wheel stop costs per bay.
Weight and freight
Each stop is about 12kg, so 50 stops weigh about 600kg. That is pallet territory, and it is why freight is quoted per job to the delivery postcode rather than as a flat price. Melbourne pickup can be arranged. Tell us the bay count, the postcode and whether the site has a loading dock or a forklift, and we will quote freight with the unit price.
There is no hard minimum order. A strata manager fitting out a few bays and a builder fitting out a whole car park send us the same details. If you are buying for a body corporate, the strata and owners corporation guide covers approvals before you order.

FAQs
The SafeWise 1650mm rubber wheel stop (SW-WS1650) starts from $50 each ex GST ($55 inc GST), as a per-unit starting point before freight. Volume is priced better. Twenty bays is 20 x $50 = $1,000 ex GST, and 40 bays is $2,000 ex GST. Freight, anchors and installation are extra.
It depends on the site. Rubber is lighter to carry, gentler on tyres and bumpers, and has reflective panels. Concrete is heavy, and can chip and leave sharp edges, but some sites already have it. For most car parks and driveways a fixed rubber stop is easier to handle and replace.
SafeWise sells one length only: 1650mm (150mm wide, 100mm high). One stop, centred in the bay, suits a standard passenger car bay. If your layout needs a different length, we don't supply one, so check before you order.
On concrete, M10 or M12 anchors through the moulded fixing holes. On asphalt or gravel, 300mm spikes or screw anchors. Fixings are not included with SafeWise wheel stops, so order them with your installer or hardware supplier.
Each stop is about 12kg, so 50 stops are about 600kg. Freight goes to any Australian postcode and is quoted per job, with Melbourne pickup by arrangement. Wheel stops are pre-order for the next container, with the expected landing date on your written quote.
